About us
GANDON EDITIONS was founded by John O’Regan in the 1980s. John had studied architecture at University College Dublin, so early books were on architecture, soon followed by books on art.
In 1991, he was joined by Nicola Dearey, who had studied English at UCD, and Gandon Editions was formally established as a specialist producer of books on Irish art + architecture. To date, we have produced over 420 books, with over 220 in print at any time.
John has been elected an honorary member of both the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) and the Architectural Association of Ireland (AAI) in recognition of his books on Irish architecture. In 2016, the Royal Hibernian Academy awarded Gandon Editions the RHA Gold Medal for its documentation and promotion of Irish art and artists.
GANDON DISTRIBUTION was established in 2005 as a specialist distributor of books on Irish art + architecture to Irish and international bookshops, wholesalers and individuals.
